Santa Pau and its gastronomy

A perfect setting, a local that maintains the essence of the old establishments of the town and the use of exclusively natural products, are the characteristics that make the Restaurant a suitable place to taste the pleasures of the good food.

Really, the culinary tradition of the Restaurant comes from a distance, since the grandmother of the family already had had an hostel in Olot, and the grandfather was the tailor of the town (from here the name of the Restaurant), therefore, was the grandson Jesus Pont, who has convinced his mother; Margarita Colldecarrera, to open a business, when he still was student of hostelery in the school of Girona. They bought the house and they restored it. The decoration of the Restaurant contributes to create a loaded environment of symbols and customs of the passed times; utensils and details of the father tailor, old magazines, calendars illustrated and many photographs of the visitors, more or less illustrious, that passed through the dining room of the house, obtaining in this way a hot environment and familiar in any corner of the restaurant.

The restaurant, has a bar and a welcoming terrace under the porches of the main square from Santa Pau. It is distributed in two floors, has three dining rooms differentiated, therefore the space signify not a problem.  The typical dish by excellence that is served in the Cal Sastre's Restaurant are "els fesols of Santa Pau", some beans that are cultivated in large fields around the volcanos, near the town.  They are small beans and almost without skin; a true gastronomic jewel.
All the dishes from the Restaurant are elaborated with the natural food of the land, and with a good cuisine make the meal unforgettable.

The Restaurant Cal Sastre is situated in "La placeta dels Balls", the main square of the village located under the porches, just in front of the castle, in the center of the old part.  A suitable space to taste the typical gastronomy of the region.
Capacity for 70 people.  Private and individual dining rooms.
